Rundown Of The Last Few Days

For those of you that wondered when I was going to do another post about another of my crazy schedules, this is where the rubber meets the road. Literally. Read on.

Thursday, photos of one concert at UNCC, Gershwin Big Band at McGlohon Theater, and the Black Lillies at the Visulite. Friday, photos of a Charlotte Talks episode, two shows of Carolina Business Review, Jazz Room concert, Marek Ranis event at New Museum Of Modern Art, one house concert, and International House concert, and then photographed and oversaw the Temperance League, Sidewalk Bob and Mitchell Kearney concert at Smokey Joe's. Thank you all for packing the place. We'll do that again soon.

Saturday, was on my way to Mad Monster Party when one of my car tires was flattened, and then exploded. Four hours, and multiple adventures with AAA and getting a new tire later, I made it to the Daughters Of Penelope luncheon. (Thank you for the best wishes and cookies, ladies.) Then spent the next six hours photographing the Charlotte Concerts gala. But wait! There was more. I then went to Neighborhood Theatre to see Douglas Young's 50th birthday party, and then stumbled into a punk rock show at Evening Muse, where I joined a crowd that was half my age in singing Neutral Milk Hotel's "Holland 1945" at the top of my lungs.

Sunday, finally made it to Mad Monster Party, which saw me giving restaurant recommendations to Ronee Blakley, and photographing many of the guests. Then photographed an audition for scholarships to attend this year's Swannanoa Gathering, and then finished the evening by photographing both the Diana Krall concert at Belk Theater, and her meet and greet after the show.

Sometimes in life, one does not plan to re-enact parts of Cannonball Run, but it happens, just the same. Just keep going, and remember that there are better and safer roads ahead of us. Safe travels, see you in the jpegs, and see you on the road.
