For many years, I've seen Beatles festivals in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and often thought, "Why can't this be somewhere in the Southeast?" or more succinctly, "Why can't this be in Charlotte?" In just three months, it's happening in Charlotte.
John Tosco has expanded his Beatles tribute concert to a whole weekend of FABFEST. We'll be taking over the Fairfield by Marriott on June 15 and 16th for wall--to-wall Beatles. Rare videos, games, live music, and much, much more. Our special guests include the legendary Peter Asher (who's new live album with Jeremy Clyde I photographed, by the way), The Cyrkle, making their first appearance in NC in over 50 years, Vivek Tiwary (author of The Fifth Beatle), and much more. I will also be speaking on a few panels, doing my own talk about photographing members of the Beatles and their friends, and interviewing The Cyrkle.
We'll also be opening the weekend with a performance by the Fab Four at the Knight Theater on June 14th, and the annual Tosco Beatles Tribute at the Knight Theater on June 15th.
Yeah, it's happening. In Charlotte.
