Media Blitz This Week

Hello all-

Thanks to all that heard me on WEND last night. I'll be doing a lot of media this week for both FABFEST, and the new show at the Charlotte Museum Of History. More TV appearances on Wilson's World, Fox46 and WCNC. Maybe even some more radio appearances. We'll see. Hope to see or hear you soon,

News On Double Door Related Events

Hello all. I wanted to let you all know about a few things coming up relating to the Double Door.

Unforgettable Music Venues Of Charlotte will open at the Charlotte Museum Of History on June 15th (the same weekend as FABFEST, by the way), and features the Double Door, and other music venues in Charlotte's history. There will be large number of items from the Double Door, as well as many photos in my collection. The exhibition will be there for 18 months, and there will be an opening night party on the evening of June 15th, with music by Lenny Federal. And here's the link with more info. (PS, the photo of Lenny on the flyer was taken by Pat Shanklin, and Pat deserves to be recognized for that.)

Bill Hanna will commence a new monthly series at Petra's in June. Go to Petra's site or FB page for all the details, and support Bill, the venue, and jazz in Charlotte.

Yes, we are planning on doing another Double Door Inn reunion show in December. Details coming soon.

Love to all, and see you on the road.

My Upcoming Shows

So where can you see some new photo shows from me this year? Here's the schedule so far this year-

1. North Carolina Music Hall Of Fame, Kannapolis, NC. Opening later this month, and running until the end of July.

2. New exhibit at the Charlotte Museum Of History on the Double Door Inn, and other music venues in Charlotte. Opening around June.

3. Exhibition on NC music at the Earl Scruggs Center, in Shelby, NC, with opening night events in September, and running until the end of 2019.

I'll also be selling photos at FabFest in June, and doing a talk about my photos of the friends and family of the Beatles, as well as interviewing some of the special guests we'll have there.

More on all of these shows coming soon. See you between the frames, and see you on the road.

Update On Museum Of History Talk On August 25th

Contrary to what the Observer printed in CLT, my talk at the Charlotte Museum Of History is on August 25th, and not tomorrow. Set your coordinates to August 25th. Reception at 6pm, talk at 7pm, and explanations and apologies (depending on how the talk goes) at 8pm. I'll also be showing some photos from the 90s Charlotte music scene, more of which I'll tell you about at the museum. See you there, and see you on the road.

A Reminder About August 25th At The Charlotte Museum Of History

Just a reminder that I'll be back at the Charlotte Museum Of History on the evening of August 25th for a new talk about my photo retrospective, and newly discovered photos in my archive from the Charlotte music scene of the 1990s. See you at the museum, and see you on the road.

Update On Museum Show, And Other Upcoming Projects

First, the sad news. Yes, my show at the Charlotte Museum Of History is now done, and has not been moved (so far) to the second floor. I'll update you as news comes in.

Happier news- I'll be Dennis Frost's internet radio show on Wednesday, April 6th at 7pm. Tune in, and turn on.

Other happier news- I'll be doing a one-day exhibition of my photos of the local music scene during the 1990s on September 24th, in South End. This will be a big multi-media event. I just finished going through a collection of one set of archives from this era, and will working on scanning and printing more local band photos through the summer. I really want a lot of my photos to focus on the local musicians that made up the scene during that time. Any requests that you'd like to see in this show? Email me.

And happier PS- we'll be doing a release party on May 14th for the return of Tangents Magazine. More on this soon, too.

Time to walk away from my sea of archives, and hit the road to talk some new photos. See you there.
