Seventeen years ago today, I photographed Johnny Cash's tribute to June Carter Cash at the Carter Family Fold, at the invitation of the Carter Family. Beauty and resilience can come from the saddest of moments. Thank you Mr. Cash, and the Cash and Carter families for giving me the chance to document something that has continued to change my life for the better. See you in the sky, and see you on the road.
