My first gig for the Charlotte Observer was an Aaron Carter concert. That day in October of 2000, I photographed a twelve year old in a Walmart parking lot, surrounded by screaming young girls, signing autographs, then hopping back on his tour bus. It seems so long ago. My best wishes to his family, and I hope that Aaron enjoys better travels on the great highway.
